The Next Frontier of LLMs: Deductive AI
In the age of Generative AI, we need a tool to help sort through and find meaning in the sea of content we’re swimming in. ChatGPT and other generative AI Large Language Models have created the need for a complimentary tool that encourages explainability and equips users to intelligently search, analyze and synthesize vast amounts of information. Introducing: Deductive AI. This panel will discuss how Deductive AI fills this gap while empowering informed decision-making among future generations of civic and policy leaders.
How Latin American Governments Fight Climate Change with AI
The Office of Sustainable Development in Querétaro is pioneering the effort to leverage AI to develop tools that benefit citizens. Querétaro is using machine learning to understand and mitigate the harmful effects of air pollution in its capital city. This initiative sets a precedent for the adoption of AI technology in Latin America, and states across Mexico are coming together to explore technologies for research and decision-making that impact the population’s welfare. This collective effort reflects a shared commitment to developing cutting-edge solutions that support citizen wellbeing.
Mindful Machines: Navigating Mental Health and Generative AI
Generative AI holds promise in mental healthcare, yet it demands responsible handling. Striving for better mental healthcare outcomes, providers and AI experts must consider the risks and promise created by this technology. LLMs can serve as support tools for healthcare providers. However, to ensure the technology’s responsible use, we must have an understanding of the limitations and risks associated. AI literacy becomes critical to ensure both providers and patients can interpret AI interactions properly. By doing so, we can maximize the benefits of Generative AI while mitigating harm.
Meet Up: Pathways to Diversify Data Science
Employers are prioritizing diversity and inclusion in the workplace, but there is a limited supply of diverse Data Science experts. Multiple organizations have emerged, dedicated to educating and placing underrepresented scholars in STEM disciplines. These initiatives play a pivotal role in breaking down barriers and ensuring scholars from diverse backgrounds have a pathway to pursue careers in STEM & employers have access to a healthy pipeline of STEM talent.
How Generative AI is Reshaping the Education Landscape (SXSW EDU)
Generative AI tools, like ChatGPT, have made a big impact on the education landscape. Now that students have access to tools that can generate essays, explain solutions to math equations, and form an opinion based on a prompt, assignments can now be done with low to no effort. Access to Generative AI has caused administrators to change school policies and teachers to redesign their curriculum and teaching style. This panel will discuss how Generative AI can support the education system as well as ways that it could be improved to better meet the needs of all students.
